The Journey of the Prophet Muhammad After Being Appointed as an Apostle
Prophet Muhammad SAW was appointed as a Prophet at the age of 40 years. On the night of the 17th of Ramadan which coincided with August 6, 610 AD, Muhammad was visited by Gabriel while staying in the Cave of Hira, passing down the first revelation, the Qur'Aan Surat Al-laAlaq verses 1-5.

After that event, he began to carry out the task as an easy Prophet and went through several twists and turns on his journey. The following is an overview of the journey and the twists and turns of the Prophet Muhammad in preaching:

1. Islamic Da'wah in Makkah
The Prophet Muhammad did not immediately accept that he had been chosen as a carrier of change, not only for his people but for the world. Feel that the task is too heavy. Until the second revelation, the Qur'an of Surah Al-Muddatsir verses 1-7, the Prophet Muhammad SAW confined himself to the house.

With encouragement from his wife, who became the first convert to Islam, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) began to broadcast the new teachings he was carrying. Starting with family and close friends.

Slowly but surely, one by one the followers of Islam increase and increase. This is due to the morals and character of the Prophet Muhammad who is without blemish and may not tell lies.
2. The Year of Sorrow

Thirteen years of da'wah preaching Islam in Mecca, not without obstacles. Starting from losing property, being exiled, accusations of being a madman, until blasphemy was received from the Quraysh.

The most severe was the boycott carried out to his family, Bani Hasyim and Bani Muttalib, both those who were already Muslims and who provided assistance to the efforts of the Prophet Muhammad.

Not yet dried the wound received due to a boycott of his family, the uncle who had raised and raised him died at the age of 87 years. Not long ago, his wife Khodijah followed.
3. Isra 'and Mi'raj

When the suffering of Islamic da'wah was at its peak, Allah's order was sent to the Prophet Muhammad to make the journey from Mecca to Baitul Maqdis in Palestine and mi'raj rose to the seventh heaven to Sidratul Muntaha. This is where the command to pray five times is delivered.

This event took place on 27th Rajab of the 11th year of Prophethood. According to the historians of the Prophet Muhammad, the wisdom of this isra and mi'raj events is to strengthen the faith and belief of the Prophet Muhammad as a prophet and apostle who broadcasts Islam. As well as a form of obedience test for Muslims.
4. Migrate to Medina
Medina, then called Yastrib, was a 14-day journey north of Makkah. In Yastrib, religious practices were more easily accepted and the number of Muslims there was far greater than in Mecca.

Islam spread to Yastrib through the pilgrims who visited Mecca and believed in the truth of the mission of the Prophet Muhammad. Seeing the development of Islam in Yastrib, the Prophet Muhammad slowly ordered his friends to emigrate there.

The news of the plan to move the Prophet Muhammad SAW was heard by the Quraysh, so a murder plot was drawn up. However, the plan was unsuccessful because at the command of Allah, the Prophet Muhammad hastened his departure.

Hijrah events based on the history of the Prophet Muhammad SAW occurred in the 13th year of Prophethood. On the 8th of Rabbi 'beginning in the 1st Hijrah, Muhammad founded the Quba Mosque, about 10 kilometers from Yastrib. And on the 12th Rabbi 'eul of the same year, the Prophet Muhammad came together with Abu Bakr and Ali ibn Abi in Yastrib.

The name Yastrib changed to Madinatun Nabi (the city of the Prophet) and was known as Medina.
5. Hajj Wada ’and Muhammad's Death

The development of Islamic da'wah reached its peak after the hijrah. Under the leadership of the Prophet Muhammad, Medina developed into a civilized city in all aspects, both economic, political, to military security. Emissaries of the Arab tribes came to declare Islam.

The 10th year after the emigration, Muhammad intended to perform the Hajj with 100,000 Muslims taking part. During a speech on the bukit Arafah hill on the 9th of Dhul-Hijah of the 10th year of Hijrah, the final revelation, the Qur'an of Surah Al-Maidah Verse 3, which contained the perfection of Islam.

Complete the task of the Prophet Muhammad in the world. This event is known as Hajj Wada ’(Farewell Hajj). About three months later, the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) fell ill and died three days later on the 12th of Rabbis beginning in the 11th of Hijrah at the age of 63 years.

The Prophet Muhammad left a very valuable legacy after his departure. Not only Islam, the legacy of the Prophet Muhammad SAW is the transfer of the Arabs from a group of ignorant and uncivilized societies to become the most respected nation in the world.

Since being converted to Islam by the Prophet Muhammad, there has been no more idol worship in the Arab lands. The civilization of the community developed, instead of disputes that ended in bloodshed, they would return it according to Islamic teachings and the guidance of the Prophet (PBUH).

People's mentality changes by realizing the importance of discipline and obedience. From a political perspective, the leadership of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) left a Muslim state that had one leader. There were no more wars and clashes between tribes and / or tribes. Which is brotherhood as fellow Muslims.

The historical achievements of the Prophet Muhammad SAW will never be recorded again by other humans. There is no other human being besides the Prophet Muhammad who succeeded in making a civilized change in a nation in just 23 years. Allah has power over all His wills.
